At the movies – Ocean’s Twelve

Ocean's Twelve

Last night, Andy, Tyler, and I went to Knoxville Center to see Ocean’s Twelve. Tyler had just seen Ocean’s Eleven for the first time like RIGHT before we left to go see the sequel, and he loved it. Andy and I are hardcore Ocean’s 11 freaks as well, so we were all pretty pumped about it. The movie opened with Brad Pitt, which is genius, because there is no more pimpin’ movie star in the history of the universe than the Pitt. And he shall, on this blog, only be referred to from now on…as the Pitt. I think my favorite part about this movie were the performances given by the cast. Pitt’s performance once again kills, just like always (he’s the Pitt, what can you say?). Everybody in the cast provided a great performances, from the always impeccable timing of Bernie Mac, to Matt Damon’s perfectly played momma’s boy longing for more motif (watch the movie and you’ll get it). Damon’s character was MUCH MUCH funnier this time, which set up the scope of the whole movie. This time around, comedy was the goal, instead of cool heist flick. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I loved it nonetheless. I was expecting Ocean’s Twelve to be Ocean’s Eleven, just with another character added, and it turned out to be a completely different movie. The soundtrack was cool, yet again, as it was one of my favorite things about the first movie, and Catherine Zeta-Jones was, simply put…hot. Overall, I give this movie 4/5 stars. I didn’t expect it to live up to the first, but it surprised me by becoming incomparable to the first…the two fit perfectly side-by-side, and shouldn’t be seen otherwise.
