The boys are back in town…

So I’m back at school, I’ve been here since Monday. I missed it so much. Wednesday night after youth group I had a Napoleon Dynamite party….there were like ten people in my room, and all but three were girls. It was quite a…moment. Classes started Wednesday as well. This semester will be an interesting one, but tough as well, because I’m going to have pull 4 A’s and one B to get the GPA I need to keep the Hope Scholarship. I totally slacked off too much last semester. Yikes. Right now I’m putting off the reading of The Odyssey I have to do for English as I work the desk at Alumni Memorial Residence Hall….

Yikes.

My New Year’s Resolutions

So this is the first time I’ve ever done this, believe it or not, but you know, I thought, I’m an adult now, It’s time I started doing SOMETHING.

So this year of 2005, I resolve to….

1) Read more – I feel that recently I’ve gotten away from that time when I was almost constantly reading. In high school I was always reading one book or another, but it seems since I started at Carson-Newman books have been replaced with friends. I think I need to balance that out better.

2) Get better on the guitar – I’m fairly good, depending on your perspective, but I can’t play lead worth a lick (no pun intended), I really need to practice scales and such, and hopefully become more versatile. I got a djembe for Christmas, so I also hope to be able to play something other than the same whiteboy beat over and over again by the end of this year.

3) Be a better son/brother/friend – I consider myself to be a relatively goodhearted, goodnatured person, but I can be a real butthole sometimes, after frustrations build and build and build…and it usually gets thrown on those closest to me. I hope I can calm that down by taking my frustrations out on something else (the djembe, perhaps? i do get to hit it)
